copy contacts from Outlook to Ipod?

Can't copy contacts from Microsoft Outlook to Ipod. Using Outlook 2003 as
req'd. Followed instructions. Appears to be syncing but when I check the
Ipod, nothing shows up in contacts.

After furious head scratching, Bartlett asked:
