Hi everyone, I am new to access and hope that someone can help? We use access
2002 and have several databases on a shared drive. How can I copy a database
to practice on but not affect the original database.

Open Windows Explorer; be sure that nobody is using the database (or you may
get a corrupt copy); select the database and just copy it, just like you'ld
copy any other file.

Of course any changes you make to the structure or content of the database
will be made only in your copy, not the original database - unless the
database you're copying is the frontend of a split database. Open the database
and look at the Tables tab - if the table names have an arrow icon in front of
them, it's a split database and you'll need to do a bit more work.
