Copy Excell chart to Word

I am using Word and Excel 2003.
I am trying to copy a bar chart from Excel to a very long Word document. I
have done this a thousand times without a problem but today when I copy the
chart to Word, I am getting a black line under the chart. When I view the
Print Preview in Excell the chart looks good. I copy it, then do a Paste
special using picture-enhanced metafile to paste it into my document. This
is where I am getting a black line. When I did the same thing to a blank
word page, it was OK (there was no black line). So I went back to my
document and made sure that bold and underline were off. But to no avail, I
am still getting a black line. I even tried copying the chart copy that was
on the blank page to my document but the line still showed up. How can I get
rid of this line?????

I wish Word had Reveal Codes like Word Perfect does - it would make it so
much easier to find funcky codes that get into a document somehow. But I
need to know what to do about this. Does anyone have a suggestion as to how
to get this black line out of my document???

Is the chart object inserted as In Line with Text or have you applied Text
Wrapping of some sort?

If In Line it may be a paragraph Border. Try clicking in the paragraph
containing the chart (turn on ¶ if necessary), then go to Format> Borders &
Shading to remove the Border.

Thank you for responding -
I finally found my problem. I changed my view from "print layout" to
"normal" to check the headings to make sure my Table of Contents would print
Ok and I found that there was extra header codes (containing bold and
underline) in the wrong areas. When I corrected this, everything was OK.
But I really appreciate your responding to my call for help.
