Copy Folders from one User Name in Outlook to another User Name

A

Angus

In Outlook 3000 I wish to copy selected folders from my User Account Name in
Outlook to my wifes User Account Name in Outlook. When my wife is logged on
under her User Name she wishes to be able to drag and drop incoming e-mails
from her InBox that are my e-mails (we share the one e-mail address) to my
Folders that I have copied to her User Name Outlook.

I am heavily involved in Genealogy e-mails that she has very little interest
in and she would like to be able to remove them from her Outlook InBox; while
distributing them for me to my set of Folders that are in her Outlook Folders
List.

How can I copy my Genealogy Folders to her Outlook Folders List; so that
e-mails that come into our joint Outlook InBox while she is logged on can be
dragged and dropped into her set of my Genealogy Folders that are on her
Outlook Folders List?
In other words when I am logged on under my User Account Name I will be
distributing my Genealogy e-mails in my InBox to the same destination folders
as when she distributes to her copy of my Genealogy Folders that show on her
Folders List.

It is hard to answer the question since you provided great details on what you want to do, but nothing about how Outlook is configured and accessed - also, the version is incorrect. Tell us if you use separate profiles, windows logons, etc. so someone can try to help you out.

Milly:

My version of Outlook is 2003.

My wife and I share a single PC with separate User Names/Log Ons. She has a
different named Profile than I do; but they are both configured with the same
e-mail account names and server types: Pop/smtp (default). Both are
configured as "Default". Her Profile is configured with a second e-mail
account name; but it is a mistake I made when originally setting up her User
Name Profile. It is never used. Should I delete it? My Profile only has
the one e-mail account.

If you need more configuraton information please let me know.

Thanks,

Angus

Milly:

I have overcomplicated that which I need to accomplish. What would provide
me with what I need is:
some way to simply copy a single folder from my wifes User Name Folder to my
User Name Folder automatically everytime our PC is powered up. Could this be
done using a "Rule" or programing "Script"? It would have to be written to
write over all duplicate e-mail items.

In practice then my wife could move all e-mails for me into a single Folder
that would automatically be copied to a Folder in my User Name screen. I
could then re-distribute those copied items to other Folders of my choice.

Milly:
Through long laborious hours of trial and error in trying to open a shared
Folder I had created in both my wifes and my User Accounts I was successful
in accomplishing that described below.

My wife can now drag and drop my E-mails from her InBox to our shared folder
which appears in the vertical Folders window payne list of each of our
Account screens. I then redistribute the E-mails she placed into our shared
Folder to other Folders I have created for my personal use.

I appreciate your time and interest in helping me with this.
