Hi All,

When I copy a cell containign a formula excel usually copies the formula
changing the row and column number at thenew location.
Sometimes this does not work and excel copies the value of the cell.
How can I tell it to copy the formuka ? which is the normal way !

TIA

Copy/Paste is the usual way. How are you doing it?

I tried "copy" and "paste" and I tried control "cC" and control "V"
Sometimes, when I put off the omputer and re start, it works !!!
But sometimes it doesn't.
All was working perfectly for years now since a few days I have this odd
thing happening !

What updates have happened in the last few days? If you restore back to
a previous date does the problem goes away?

The problem happens sometimes not always.
I cannot find out why or when it happens.
After closing excel and not working with it for several hours, I tried
again now, and everything is back to normal.
But it will happen again and I was wondering if there is sometjhing I
can do about it !

This seems unbelievable but it is happening....
Tahnks for your help Gary

Yeah, I hate when stuff like that happens! I get weird behaviors when
working with VBA that usually fixes with a restart, but this issue is
new to me.

I bet you're copying from two different workbooks.

And each workbook is open in its own instance of excel.

Close one of the workbooks and then reopen it in the other instance. Then try
copy|paste.
