Copy from web page sets text entry as date

I am downloading data from a web site to an excell
worksheet, data as displayed is 23:6-4-3. I want to paste
it as text, but excel changes it automatically to a date.
How do I switch this off?

How are you getting the data - Have you tried Data / Import External Data / New
Web Query

Failing that have you tried formatting your cells as text before paste special
values only.
