copy hyperlink used PC name

Henry Vanston

When clicking on hyperlinks from within OneNote to another page in an opened
notebook in OneNote, I get the message "do you want to open the xxx notebook
(recommended) or just the yyy section?".

I have found that when I get this message, the underlying link using my PC
name instead of "C:\" in the path. If I edit the link to replace the
"Henry-PC" with "C:\" the message never appears. Is there someway to get
OneNote to copy the link using the local drive?

Thanks,

Hi Henry,

I've found that if I copy a hyperlink, and then do a simple paste, rather
than trying to set the Hyperlink of some existing text, then I get the C:
version instead of the "MYPC" version of the link. Not sure why it works this
way (I really like adding a link to existing text) but it seems consistent.
