Hi
Anyone else had this weird problem? A user of mine had been happily
copying jpegs from her Word doc to MS Office Picture Manager and
manipulating the resulting image file. However, suddenly she got it
pasting in blank, rather than with the actual image.
On investigation I found that the actual copy is blank. When she copies
an image from Word, the clipboard viewer shows an image file, but it's
blank. This is why it's pasting blank in image editing programs. It's
not a paste failure, it's a copy failure.
She does not think she changed the settings between it working and not
working, as she only went off for lunch in between it working and not.
It could be possible however, you know users.
I can copy images from Word fine on the same machine, logged in as me.
She can copy images from image editing programs fine. She has rebooted
her computer.
Oh, also, just to throw a bigger spanner in the works, if she pastes it
into Word, it's fine. The image appears in clipboard viewer as blank,
but when pasted into a new Word document, the image is there. The saved
'blank' images are also the same size as one copied by me (different
user login). So obviously these blank ones have the image data, it's
just not displaying it.
I've googled and checked MS Office online assistance, and can't find
anything remotely like this. Hopefully someone out there has seen it
before and has some ideas.
In a previous job incarnation I'd have renamed her ntuser.dat file to
reset her profile, but we're not using roaming profiles and there isn't
an ntuser.dat.
Any and all ideas appreciated.
