copy labels to new template

I want to copy names on a template for pin-type name badge inserts onto a
template for clip-type name badge inserts which uses a different template.
How?

Convert the existing label document to a mail-merge source
(http://www.gmayor.com/convert_labels_into_mail_merge.htm). Then merge
that source to a new label document using the desired label format
(http://www.gmayor.com/mail_merge_labels_with_word_xp.htm).
