Copy multiple slides from one poresentation to another

I'm using PowerPoint 2002 (10.4205.4219) SP-2. When I try to copy multiple slides from one presentation to another I get an error popup saying 'There was an error accessing'. The presentations have different master and slide formats. I can copy one slide at a time (mostly). Can anyone help?

Have you tried to do Insert > Slides from File in the target presentation?
You can specify whether you want to retain the template or not and it's a
one step process.

Now would be a good time to go to
http://office.microsoft.com/home/default.aspx and check for new updates,
since I see that you don't have SP3 installed.
