Copy not functioning (not a Paste issue) - Excel 2007

S

slipperybeans

All of a sudden, when I try to copy a cell, no formulas get put into th
buffer; only values. The second I hit Copy or Ctrl-C, th
hash/highlight on the cell no longer appears. Also, the Paste Specia
options are much different, in that a different dialog comes up withou
the typical list. It is now a large text area with Unicode Text and an
Text as the only two options

This IS NOT an issue with Manual calculations being turned on
This IS NOT an issue with the Format of the cells being something lik
Text

I have rebooted, restarted, and even opened old files that never ha
this issue

So, I assume some setting has been updated without me knowing

The version is Excel 2007, and the OS is Win 7

Any help that avoids reinstalling Excel would be much appreciated

I am having exactly the same problem on my desktop computer with Excel 7. Th
problem started about a week ago and prior to that the Copy/Paste/Paste Specia
command was working fine

It is also curious that I do not have the same problem with the Excel 200
installed on my laptop even with the same spreadsheet. So I am guessing tha
i
has something to do with having inadvertently changed some setting on th
desktop version of Excel 2007

Any help with this problem will be greatly appreciated.
