copy of FP for notebook

I am considering purchasing a notebook which I will use at a retail store to
show our website. This computer would not be connected to the internet; The
website, constructed with FP2002, would simply run on the browser and act as
a catalog.

What must I do to get permission from Microsoft to do this? Do I need to
buy another copy of FP?

You should read the EULA with FrontPage. You are allowed to install twice:
once on a PC and once on a laptop.

If you just want to run the site from a laptop, you don't need to have FrontPage on it, but make
sure that you get a laptop with Windows XP Pro installed, not Home

I currently run FP on a machine with XP Home; why couldn't I do the same
with the laptop?

You could, but you might need to use a web server to display the site depending on the function used
within the site. Windows XP Home doesn't support FP run-time extensions that require the IIS web
server under Windows XP Pro or Windows 2000 Pro.

Thanks for the info. I've been using a host that does not support
extensions anyway. They're such a great host - didn't want to leave! And I
haven't needed the extras.

Ok, however if you are running Windows XP with SP 2, any JavaScript on your pages will launch a
security warning when displayed in a browser from a disk-based web.
