Copy organization shape

Scott

I created a organization shape in my organization chart and would like to
use it for other position. The copy and paste give me a default shape
without retaining the format and dimensions. Can someone advise me how to
accomplish it. I am using Visio 2003.

Thanks,

Scott

In general, the characteristics for each shape that you drop from a stencil
default back to the master shape. In addition, the Organization Chart
solution has its own settings to help manage the defaults for a drawing.

If you want to change the default size for shapes, try using the Options
under the Organization Chart menu. These allow you to set a shape width
and height, the text format, and set up the fields of information that you
wish to include in the drawing shapes.

The other formatting is inherited from the masters in the stencil, so you
can make copies of an existing shape that you have customized and update
the text, for instance. Another option would be to create copies of the
shapes that you need to customize and make your own stencil to store them
on. (You should not edit the built in shapes themselves).
