I have rec'd a document, which has a photo in it. How do I save / copy that
photo into "My pictures" or somewhere else that I can work with it?

Select the image, right-click, select "Copy".

Open an image editor, such as Paint or Photoshop, and you should be
able to paste it onto a blank image and save it as BMP or JPEG.

Or, you can try saving the DOC file as a Web page (.htm), and the
images will be stored in a subdirectory (documentname_files).

Frankly, I would simply right click on the picture icon and "save as"
in your "My Pictures" folder. You can save any photograph (even on
the internet) this way.

The Paint option worked fine, Rachel, but I couldn't get the WEb option to
work. The other one is fine though.
Re the "save as" option, Lorrie, when I right lick, there is no "save as".
The options are:
I tried this-- there is no "save as" as an option. The possibilities are:
cut
copy
paste
Edit Picture (in greyscale)
show picture tolbar
grouping
order
set auto shape defaults
format picture hyperlink

I tried the "copy", but when I get to my pictures or my images, there is no
paste option hilighted, to get it off the clipboard.

Is this a Windows XP feature? It may not be something built into
Word. I think Windows XP is the first Windows OS that pops up a
toolbar to let you save an image no matter where you're viewing it.
