Copy/Paste Append

I have two tables of exactly the same structure, one is holding table and the
second a master. I am trying to copy data from the holding to the master by
simply copying the data (Ctl-A; Ctl-C) then in the master table using
Edit|Paste Append. I get an error message on the Date field saying the format
of the incoming Date type does not match that in the master table. Both
tables have an Input Mask the same ie: 00/00/0000;0;_

Does anybody have any ideas?
