Copy Paste error in MS Word 2003

I suddenly stareted getting an error when trying to copy and paste in
Microsoft ord 2003.
When i try to copy and paste in a line-nothing gets pasted on ,my word doc
except "a".
I dont understand why this suddenly starts to happen very often after a
while-i tried clearing the clipboard and restarting my computer but doesnt
seems to work

Please HELP Me ! This is really annoying and frustrating
