copy paste formatting

Version: 2008

Hi,

I am new to Mac after years with PC and I am new to Office 2008.

I note that one person had trouble copying FROM Word, but I am having trouble copying TO Word. When I copy text from a PPT slide, Word converts each bullet into a lowercase 'n' and eliminates all other formatting. Word gives me the same problem when copying from a PDF. Is there any way around this? I was able to manage it before in the old version of Word.

Sincerely,

Chris

Hi Chris;

In order to have a shot at being right on this there is a need for more
specific information:

Exact update version of both OS X & Office

Is this happening when you copy from one specific PPT file or is it
regardless of what file you copy from? Did you create the files with PPT
2008 or did they come from a different version... If different, what?

Does it happen when you paste into *any* Word document -- including a new
blank document -- or does it happen in one particular document? If it only
happens in certain files elaborate on their origin & formatting/content.

What happens if you select the text after pasting & apply a "plain vanilla"
font such as Times New Roman or Arial? Have you tried the options in Word's
Edit> Paste Special dialog? Try "Unformatted Text" for example.

It sounds like it could be either a font or language issue.

The lowercase n can happen when one machine uses a Type 1 Symbol font and the
other uses a TrueType.
