copy - paste from IE browser to Outlook 2003?

When I attempt to paste into an e-mail, I only get a strange icon. Copy -
paste works fine for other applications but not in Outlook 2003. The icon is
the normal box and has what may be described as a blue wastecan with a green
arrow coming out ot the top. Superimposed over the wastecan is a gray
enevelope. I think the icon represents some file extention that is not
displayed in Outlook. Just a layman's opinion.

Any ideas?

I suspect that you meant to post this in the Outlook NG but what is it
that you're trying to paste? Text? Pictures? What version of Outlook.

In response to Mr. Schorr, let me add that the issue involves copying text
from the MS IE Browser, v.6. Using the browser to bring up a url, I copy a
paragraph of text and then try to paste it into an outgoing e-mail in MS
Outlook 2003. In the past, this would always work and allow me to paste the
text as it appeared in the browser page. Now, all I am able to paste is the
icon described in this post.

Is it possible that Outlook 2003 is treating the copied material as an image
without a file extention? I have researched the icon and can find nothing
similar.

You should check to see what format your e-mail message is (HTML, Rich
Text, Plain Text). But you also should post this over in one of the
Outlook groups - lot more Outlook experts over there who can help you.
