"copy & paste" from IE to Word

3/4 of the time when I try to copy something on a webpage
and paste it onto a WORD document .... Word hangs on me
and I have to end the program.

Haven't been able to figure out why it doesn't happen
sometime (ie. a clue as to what I'm doing right!) but...
most of the time I now have to paste into WordPad and
then open that same WordPad document in Word if I have to
manipulate it in some way.

Any idea what this bug is and how to avoid it?

Older versions of Word were extremely slow to paste from IE. How long were
you waiting before killing Word? Also, which version of Word are you using?
