In the last week Word 2003 will not process copy & paste. Nothing shows up
in the clip board.

This is usually a badly written add-in that is conflicting with the Office
Clipboard. Are you just copying between Word documents?

Hi Terry
Thanks for your reply.
I have been trying to copy words / sentences within the same Word document.

Then I would definitely suspect that there is something messing with the
Office Clipboard. A quick test: start Word in Safe Mode and see if the
problem is still there. From Start, Run, type in

winword /a

and press enter. This starts Word bypassing all add-ins. Des it copy/paste
now?

Many thanks. You are 100 % correct. What has happended to Word and how do
I run it so that this problem does not occur? The Word installation was from
a standard MS supplied CD.

You need to look for any add-ins: these are often installed as a template in
the Word Startup folder or as a custom Macro. Check in Tools, Macros to see
what macros are installed and under Tools, Templates and Add-ins to see what
templates are active.
