Copy & Paste in Word ODD problem

Hi folks,
I can't figure this one out and it seems it should be simple. I have Office
XP pro. When I want to copy and paste something INTO MS Word, Word has to
be open first. If I choose copy from the other program, and then open Word,
the paste option is not available. I have to go back to the source, choose
copy again, then go into Word and choose Paste.

It is not like this is critical, but you would be surprised how many times
per week this irritating problem happens. On my work computer which has the
same configuration this doesn't happen so why on my home computer? Any
suggestions?

Thanks,
Nona

Do you have Works Suite installed on your home computer? If so, do you
have the Works Suite Add-In for Word installed too? If so, and if you
don't need the functionality that the add-in provides, try uninstalling
it in Start | Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs.

And if Works Suite is not the problem, it could be that there is another
add-in that is clearing the Clipboard.
