copy & paste into one note

When I copy & paste from MS word into a one note page the text is scattered.
The margins change and things that were centered become uncentered. How do I
prevent this? I have tried different page set ups, but still the same stuff.

There might not be much that you can do other than to manually reformat in
OneNote. It's a known issue that OneNote does not handle pasted HTML with
complicated formatting well.

After pasting, you can change the margins by adjusting the width and
placement of the Note Container, and you can change the alignment of a line
by using the standard Office KB shortcuts (Ctrl-L, Ctrl-E and Ctrl-R) for
left, center and right alignment. I know it's a PITN, but it's a
workaround
