Copy/paste

I have a long list of names down coumn "A", for example,
students at a high school.

Columns B is the school name, C the street address, d the
city, e the state and f the zip code.

Every name down column "A" is different, but the other
information is the same for all.

Question: How do I copy that info on row 1 and paste it
onto the rest of the rows below in one operation. As of
now, all I seem to be able to do is copy row 1 and paste
to row 2, then copy rows 1 & 2 and paste to rows 3 & 4,
and so on.

This seems like a simple, normal thing that most database
users would need to do on a regular basis. I know you can
do this in Excel, but I don't seem to be able to do in in
Access. Am I overlooking something? I can't find the
answer in "help", nor in either of the two large manuals I
have.

I'd appreciate any of you out there who could answer this
question e-mailing me the answer at:

(e-mail address removed)

Thanks!

No: actually it's a thing that nobody would ever, ever, want to do in
Access, not even at the price of having hot needles pressed into one's
keyboard. In fact, the whole point of Access (and other database platforms)
is exactly to avoid the situation of:-
Columns B is the school name, C the street address, d the
city, e the state and f the zip code.

Every name down column "A" is different, but the other

I really suggest you take the time to read something about database design,
relational theory if you need to. Of course, the list management facilities
in Excel are so good that you may feel after all that you don't need to.

Hope that helps
