Copy protection access.mdb

How can I stop users from copying my back end data base to different
locations. I still need all of them to be able to access it with the front
end.

I don't think you can do this through Access. Consider whacking the first
one who does this with a stun gun. The others will probably not try the
same.

I you can make the assumption that they are not that familiar with Access,
try hiding all the important tables. If they can't see them and don't know
to make them visible it may take some time for them to work it out, assuming
of course they do not know the tables have been hidden in the first place.
An empty looking db will leave them scratching their heads.

I've found that just the threat of taking body parts works well and then you
don't have to worry about the lawyer.

On a more serious note, if you will implement user level security you can
probably provide enough protection, such as the user not being able to open
the database at all after they copy it, to deter all but the most determined
hackers. Get the Security FAQ (there's a link on the Security page of my
website), read it several times, and follow it to the letter.
