Copy shape to exact location on another page

I am trying to figure out how to copy one shape or the entire drawing from
one page to another page so the new shape/drawing appears at the exact same
place on the new page. I found where something like a border can be used as a
background on multiple pages and the border is in the exact location on each
page. When I copy a shape from one page to another, it puts the shape at the
center of the new page instead of in the same place as the page I copied
from. In Excel it is easy to copy a page in a workbook, and then modify the
new page. Is there an easy way to do this in Visio 2003?

As far as I know, Visio always pastes images right in the middle of
the screen.

Your suggestion is a good one. I also wish I could get Visio to paste
images at the cursor position.

try this:
go into the help feature, type "paste to location" in the search field.
Click the document titled "Copy a shape from one page to the same spot on
another page"

Hi Raven,

Thanks for the suggestion. It works! I still wish it was as easy as in
Excel, but it is not too cumbersome after I did it a few times.

Thanks for your help!

I have the same problem and its most infuriating as I am creating files with
many sub sheets and every time I create a new sheet I have to re-adjust the
position of the shapes on the new sheet.

I am just astonished that Microsoft don't allow one to copy a new sheet as
they do with Excel.

ALSO ALSO ALSO

Even if you use Copy Drawing and then Paste into a new sheet then EVEN this
does not work (also places shapes in wrong positions). How weird is that????

Come on Microsoft Guys, can one of you use the software so that you realise
how important this is and how time wasting it is without this fundamental
function?
