does anyone know the correct Access vba syntax for
copying a worksheet from one XL workbook to another XL
workbook?

Assuming you have an object referencing Excel, it's the Copy method:

SourceSheet.Copy TargetBook.Sheets(1)

copies it to the start of the target workbook.
