Copy some of selected columns to master sheet

Hi

I have a master sheet of all users say Chris, TOM, Peter etc .
(identified in Column D of master sheet).
Each of these also give me their individual reports.
How can I update some of the selected columns of my master sheet from
the updated of individual sheets.

Formats (column, row etc.) of both master and individual sheet is
same.
I just need that whaterver daily updates in some of the columns I get
from individual should get reflected in my master sheet.
Your urgent help is highly appreciated.

Regards
Sanjay

Couldn't you simply use a formula in your master sheet like this

=Peter!A

this assuming the worksheet is called Peter and you want the value fro
A1

Other than that you need to be a little clearer

Thanks Simon, although both sheets are in the same format, but these
may not be in the same row in individual report and master report.

Say, all these are correlated though entries in column1.
If Peter(row10, column1)= master(row25, colum1) then copy peter
(rowx,column10) to master(rowx, column10)
