Copy table of contents to another file

HI.
Word 2000
I need to copy a generated table of contents to another
file but not have it try to update there because there is
incomplete information in that file.

I've tried a gazillion copy & paste, paste special etc.
and every time I go to print it decides to update the
table and I get a bunch of Error, bookmark not found
errors where the page numbers should be.

I REALLY NEED THIS.
Thanks
Lisa

Hi Lisa,

As soon as you have pasted the table of contents to the new document, select
the whole table, then do CTRL-SHIFT-F9, and if you get hyperlinkks, do
CTRL-Spacebar to reset the fonts.

If you are doing it from a macro, the coded equivalents are

Selection.Fields.Unlink
Selection.Font.Reset

HTH
Cheers
