copy table properies?

Chemoul

Hi all,

I'm trying to copy row properties to other rows in Office XP. For example, I
have 3 rows with different colours and shading and I would like to copy
these properties to 3 other rows in the same table. Using the copy and paste
function will only copy the text contained in these rows, but not the
background colour, borders, shading, etc.

Is there any way to do this?

Thank you for your help.

Kind regards,
Chemoul

Even Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V (Copy/Paste Formatting) won't work here, but you can use
F4 (Repeat) if you apply the shading to one row, then immediately select
another row and press F4. Not much help, unfortunately, if the formatting
already exists. Oddly, you can visit the Borders and Shading dialog and OK
out, then F4, but only the border formatting is applied, not shading (even
if there is *only* shading and even if you explicitly visit the Shading
tab). Note, however, that you can apply shading ("fill") from the Tables and
Borders toolbar, which is at least a bit of a shortcut.

Hi Chemoul,

Here is one possibility:

When you select the rows to copy, make sure you include the end of row
marker. To do that, the easiest is to place the mouse pointer in to the left
of the table until you get an arrow pointing tpwards the top right corner of
the screen, then click and hold while dragging down untill all your rows are
selected. then CTRL-C to copy. Move the cursor where you want the new rows
to be (in the top left corner of the first cell of the row above where you
want the new ones). then paste (CTRL-V). this will copy the original rows
with all their attributes and text. Of course it will add rows to you
table... so you will have to remove the number of rows you added by this
method (under the newly added rows)...

HTH
Cheers!
