Copy Tables

When copying a table I use the command from the drop down menu - Table, Select, Table - then use the - Copy - Paste - commands from the Edit drop down menu to copy a table. This method has always worked on previous versions of Word, but in XP this method only copies the text inside the table rather than the table as a whole. I attempted to use the new method of clicking and holding CTRL + dragging, but as I wanted to copy and paste the table several pages away (15 pages) this made for an aggrivating experience. Any idea of what I am doing wrong with the XP version or tips on a better method?

Hi Ciarah,

Place the mouse cursor to the left of the table so that it converts to an
arrow pointing upwards towards the table. Then left click and hold the
mouse key down while you drag the mouse down until all of the rows of the
table are selected. release the left mouse key and right click and select
Copy from the shortcut menu that appears by left clicking on it. Now, move
the mouse cursor to the position in which you want to paste the table and at
that location, right click and then select Paste.

Please post any further questions or followup to the newsgroups for the

Hope this helps
