copying and pasting from word

Rachel Mavrak

I often need to copy and paste from Microsoft Word. When
the word file is showing/tracking changes (underline and
strike-through and I copy and paste it, SOMETIMES the
strike-through does not come over. This is not consistent
though. I was wondering if there are some settings in Word
that are affecting this. Ideally, I would like the text
that is struck-through to copy and paste over.

Hi Rachel

My experience, at least in Word 2002, is that Word copies (or does not copy) tracked changes depending on whether Tracked Changes is
on or off.

If track changes is ON, then text copied from that document to another will *not* bring in the tracked changes. But if you turn
track changes OFF, and then copy text with tracked changes to another document, the tracked changes are copied into the new
document.

The same thing applies to copying within a document.

Hope this helps.
