Sorry for that mouthful of subject. I've been using Entourage v.X on
an iMac and syncing my Palm T3 with no problems. Just got a new iBook
and decided to try the new Apple apps using iSync. Worked fine for
contacts and calendar from my Palm, but the Palm memos would not go
into the Palm Desktop 4.1 as they should have.
1. I called AppleCare. They said, call Palm. They also said I
shouldn't be syncing the same Palm on two computers. I'd never heard
that before.
2. I called Palm. They said there were "issues' with Apple, iSync,
etc., and that there was no way at present to sync contacts/calendar
to Apple apps and memos to Palm Desktop, although some people could
and others could do memos but not calendar or contacts. In other
words, a general mess.
So, I'm going to load a new student/teacher version of Microsoft
Office onto my new iBook, which leads to my real questions here:
1. Do I have to delete or othewise disarm iSync?
2. Is there really a problem syncing my Palm on both iMac and iBook? I
thought that would be a good way to keep the calendars and contacts in
sync. I DON'T want to move all the email back and forth each time, and
my impression is that all Entourage data is in one database, which
makes moving it by copying an all or nothing affair. Is that wrong?
