Copying cells horizontally (A,B,C,D) entered in a vertical path

I am tring to copy information from 50 cells in a
horizontal sequence into a vertical sequence without
having to do so individually. When I use autofill, it
only copies the same column, I cannot get it to work. Is
there a symbol I should use like "$" in my formula to
indicate a change in column?

Do these cells have formulas?

One method if formulas exist......

1. Select the 50 cells across the row.
2. Edit>Replace>What: = With:xx=
3. Replace all.
4. Copy the range.
5. Select a cell to copy to.
6. Paste Special>Tranpose>OK
7. Reverse the Edit>Replace operation.
8. Delete the original range or row.

If no formulas, just Copy>Paste Special>Transpose without the Edit>Replace
bits.
