I have an issue copying graphics out of Word. When I paste the
graphics somewhere else, they come out in a highly degraded format. My
goal is typically to copy/paste (or otherwise copy or save them) and
adjust them in a non-MS-office graphics program (something other than
Word, PPT, or Excel).
They come out useless whether I paste them into something simple like
MS-Paint or even a more advanced program that supports WMF. It looks
like perhaps they've lost tens of thousands of colors. They are not
useable.
This problem seems to have started with Windows XP and/or Office 2002.
(Perhaps it was the onset of VML behind the scenes?)
Is there some way to extract these graphics from Word? I've taken to
snapping screen shots of them in Word then pasting that into a
graphics program and manipulating them there as bitmaps. That works,
but it's not ideal.
Thanks,
