Copying Database

I copied my database onto a disk. When I went to check to make sure tha
I could open the the database from the disk it gives the error "coul
not lock file". I am assuming this is because the database is secure
with a password. I am not familar with Access Security and don't kno
how to disable the security password so that I can copy the databas
and have someone else be able to read it from their own computer. An
help would be appreciated!!! I am on a deadline!!! Thanks in advance!!
I then would like to put the security back on???

Access files need to be in a folder which they can write to so will not open
from a CD. Copy it from the CD to a writable folder and remove the
'read-only' file attribute.

You will note that whenever you open a Access database, that in
addition to the .mdb file, a small .ldb file of the same name is
created. This file stays in existence as long as the mdb file is open.
THis is the lock file that can not be created on the read only disk.
