Copying files from Outlook/Office 2000 to Outlook/Office 2007

I have been using Office 2000 Small Business. I started getting messages that
my version was illegitimate. I went to the knowledge bank and read that
sometimes this error is solved by re-installing the program. I did so. After
this, Outlook didn't work well and my Contacts and Calendar disappeared. I
bought and installed Office Standard 2007 but my Contacts and Calendar were
not picked-up, they are empty now. I need to find in my computer the data
files for my Contacts and Calendar that I had in the 2000 version so I can
import them into the 2007 version. Can you help? Thanks

They are contained in a *.pst file, which is a hidden file
You open a pst file within outlook, File>Open>Data File
