I am an editor and like to back up my current editing
file by copying it to a CD Rom. In previous versions of
Windows, I had no problem. In XP the copied files become
Read Only on the CD. When I try to change the attribute,
I get "access denied."
I am going on a trip next week and, instead of bringing
my laptop, I would like to carry the editing file on a CD
(It weighs a lot less) I want to be able to work on
it on a friends computer. Any ideas how to "unlock"
these files so they can be worked on and then transferred
to other computers, or restored to the C drive of my
computer.
I've been told by Microsoft, that Roxio builds in the
problem and that there is no way around it. I'd use a
zip disk buy my friend doesn't have a zip drive.
