Copying filtered, merged cells

B

I have 10 columns, 3 of which are vertically merged over
four rows. The other 7 columns contain four individual
rows per record. (Totals are 600 rows / 150 records).
When I filter, only the top row of each record shows.
And, when I go to copy several different rows, Excel
tells me that I "can't change part of a merged cell."

Any ideas on how to filter AND copy the results?

Bennerob,

"Merge Cells" is actually the short name for that Icon/Excel feature. The
full name is:

"Merge Cells And Destroy All Worksheet Functionality"

The best thing to do is un-merge the cells. Highlight the columns and then
Format|Cells|Alignment and un-check the Merge Cells option.

Otherwise it will continue to cause difficulties such as those you are
experiencing.
