Copying formulas

My copy commands, suddenly, will only copy values, not formulae.
Never had this happen before. The receiving cell shows the copied
formula on the toolbar, but the value shows up in the cell. Is this a
cell formatting problem?

If the receiving cell shows the copied formula in the formula box of the
formula toolbar, then the formula is what is stored in the cell, and the
display in the cell *SHOULD* be the result of the formula.

Which sounds exactly like what you're seeing...

If you want to see the formulae in the cell, type CMD-` (accent grave,
the key above the Tab key on a standard US keyboard).

Thanks for the response. To clarify;

in cell W6 I enter =W14*$A$3. The result is 150,000. I then copy and
paste to cell W7. The toolbar shows that the formula in W7 is W15*$A
$3, but the cell shows 150,000 ( it should show 300,000).

Choose Excel/Preferences/Calculation. Select the Automatic radio button.
