Copying from Excel into Resource Usage Spreadsheet

Good Morning,

I have an Excel spreadsheet which shows the number of production hours per
week per resource and I'm trying to cut and paste this into the Resource
Usage Table with MS Project 2007. I have set up the columns to match in both
Excel and MS Project (weekly columns), however when I paste the data, it gets
thrown all over the place. Also tried to do a Paste Link so the data can be
automatically updated from the Excel spreadsheet, alas this doesn't work
either. Any help woudl be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
Dicko

The only way to get timephased (Usage) data into Project from Excel is using
VBA. For VBA to work you will need unique IDs for Task and Resources and the
work broken down into assignments. Paste Link won't work and even if it did
would lead to high risk of file corruption.

As management are insisting on having the production schedule in MS Project,
I had better get learning VBA. Cheers.
