Copying Network Diagrams to Word

Hi all,

Apologies if this has featured before, but this is my first time here. I am
using Project 2000 and I’m having great difficulty in copying a network
diagram across to Word. I’d assumed this would be possible, as I had done
the same with a Gantt chart using the Copy Picture tool without any problems.

When I try, the diagram is always so small as to be unintelligible.
Furthermore, the picture box is taken up with 90% blank space and the diagram
is stuck in the top left corner, which makes it hard to resize. Even when I
crop the blank space out and then resize the diagram, it’s just a pixellated
mess. I’ve kept the network diagram deliberately small (14 tasks) so I’m
baffled (not to mention a tad irate) why this should be so difficult. Any
advice would be most welcome.

Kind regards,

Stephen

PS – I understand that Project 2003 has a Copy Picture wizard. Does this
mean this that the problem above cannot be done in 2000 and I would need to
upgrade?

I use 2003 and 2007 in this machine, no additional joy there. Certainly the
picture wizard works better on the Gantt view. So, I don't think an updgrade
is going to help you.

Try changing the Layout (right click on the Network Diagram, select
Layout), it should be available on P2000. If you adjust the Box Layout,
including the Row and Column spacing parameters, you will be able to get more
information onto the screen without loss of resolution. You can also select
"Allow manual box positioning" so you can drag the boxes around yourself.

See if that helps
