Copying *.OST from Outlook 2000 to Outlook 2003

We are upgrading from Outlook 2000 to Outlook 2003 and am wondering is it okay to copy a user's OST from version 2000 to 2003. At present we are not turning on "cached exchange mode" and we are trying to minimize the time it takes for Outlook to synchronize on the very first exit .

FYI: We are using Symantec Ghost to re-image our pc's.
