Had to change to another pc today (both using Windows XP and Office/Outlook
2003) and so used the Office save my settings wizard assuming this would
make the process as simple as possible. Most things transferred across ok,
however the following problems occurred:
Although the email accounts were transferred, their passwords did not appear
to travel with them and I was asked to enter them the first time Outlook
synchronised. For most accounts this was not a problem as I was able to find
the passwords. However, the password of a very old account appear to be lost
in the mists of time. Is there any way to extract it from the old pc, or
export/import the account in a way that includes the password?
Finally I thought all the Outlook options would be imported but although
toolbars, signatures etc have all travelled, the basic formatting settings
(e.g. use Word as email editor) have not. Is there another file to copy
across which would include these?
Any help on the 2 issues above would be much appreciated.
TIA
