copying ppt presentation to dvd or cd from windows media

In windows media player, the file says 65.7 megabytes and the cd is 700 mb,
the file says 4.5 gigabytes and the dvd says 4.7 gb. Now it tells me it
cannot copy the file to the "d" drive or it won't fit. I have copied the
presentation to the dvd drive before but only got music or it copied
pictures. I can get it to convert from the ppt2dvd and it goes to windows
media and play music and the video comes up also. But when I try to copy to
disk or cd I get the error. I have converted with the AVI, WMV and the MPEG.
I have used different settings ie: dvd ntsc mpeg2, 800 and video mpeg2, etc.
The AVI setting's file is 4.5 gb, the mpeg is over 600mb so I figured it
should at least fit on the dvd but it won't. It gives and error for both cd
and dvd. I even downloaded a decoder. Can anyone help me step by step. I
am trying to do this with the tools I have and not spend anymore money.

If you used PPT2DVD you should maybe ask in the forum on their site. This is
not a problem caused by PowerPoint, but caused by Wondershare-software. And
I think there will be no one to give you good advice because most of us do
not use this software, as the results are not satisfying.

I use Camtasia Studio, http://www.techsmith.com, to create AVI, then a DVD
burnig software (Nero in my case) to convert it into DVD format and burn it.
I like Camtasia, because I not only record videos with it, but also have a
lot of options to edit them (including, Zoom & Pan, Callouts and Captions)
and a lot more output formats (WMV, SWF/FLV, iPod, ...). Maybe you give it a
try, they have a free and fully functional 30-day-trial version.

I've tried all the ways. I use blank r's, I've used cd rw, dvd blanks, dvd
rw, I even used a +r. I've packaged to hard drive, then tried to send it to
the cd or dvd. Sometimes I didn't get errors with the package but I got
different results. One result was it saved it to the cd and the cd kept
clicking and I couldn't it say retry, cancel and another message. When I
took the cd out the error message stayed on the screen and I had to shut the
computer down to get it off. Maybe I didn't know what to do after packaging,
I am not sure. But I will try the software you recommended. Thanks. I am
also going to check my other post.

Just got your message. I am on lunch hours and I have 20 minutes left. I
just burned a cd. I selected a photo and sent it to my "d" drive. It told
me I had files to be written to the cd. It wrote them and the cd popped out.
That is how I burn a cd and other ways as well.

I've tried both ways. I have tried to use Acoolsoft PPT2DVD Trial. I have
been working on PresenterSoft Power Video Maker. Now I am downloading from
Wondershare PPT2DVD 4 Trial. I printed out the instructions for it and
waiting until it finishes to try it. I had instructions for package for cd.
I went to publish, package for cd, I copied to a folder sent all the files at
one time to the cd, didn't work. Tried to copy to cd first, didn't work. I
got all my music files in order and it came up as a windows media file. Then
when I did succeed to get the music and the video working and tried to send
it to a cd with the ppt2dvd it would tell me the file was too big to be
copied. I read somewhere power point has bloated files and you would have to
find them and do something with them to get them down to a normal size. When
this finish downloading I am going to try it. I really appreciate you trying
to help me. I will let you know what happened and if it work, I will also
post it so everyone else get it. I will go step by step. God bless
