Copying styles through the Organizer (Word)

On occasion I need to copy styles from one document to another. When trying
to do so through the Organizer, my only option seems to be to open the
document I want to copy the styles from and copy them into the Normal.dot
then open the document I want to copy the styles into and copy them from the
Normal.dot. I know in the past I have been able to select, from the
Organizer drop down menu, the document I want to copy from and the document I
want to copy to, however, I don't seem to find that option in the 2003
version I'm working with presently. The problem it caused me recently is
after copying styles in this manner - later on I made some changes to some
macros and when exiting Word I was prompted to save the changes I made to the
normal.dot. I did so, forgetting that I'd copied styles into the normal.dot
which overlaid some customized styles already there. Fortunately, they were
styles in a general numbering suite which usually get tailored anyway but I
don't want this to happen on a regular basis. Any suggestions?

Doesn't Word 2003 Organizer dialog have a "Close File" button under each
pane?
If it does then close down one or both panes that you don't need and the
button(s) will change to "Open File..." Open the files for transferring.

The Close File and Open File are just for that dialog to transfer data.

Sorry Russ - forgot to mention this - I want to be able to access a document
from a document management system (Imanage). In answer to your question --
yes it does have a Close File button, but unfortunately, I cannot access the
documents I want from Imanage. It seems I'll have to copy the documents on
to my desktop and then access them from the Organizer.

Thanks for your response.
