Copying table from Excel to Publisher

Hi

I'm trying to copy a table from Excel to Publisher but when I paste instead
of going down the page in 2 columns it converts to four so that the header is
on the first row and then rows 2&3 from the Excel spreadsheet are both on the
second row of the publisher table, then 4&5 on the third and so on. How do I
get it to keep the original formatting? I'm really stumped
