Copying templates

T

TD

I have copied the contents of a Word template to a new template using Edit,
Select All, then Paste. The original template uses a macro to open the
Address Book and then the user selects a name and the fullname, fax number
and company name are inserted into fields on the new document.

The problem I have is the original template works fine but the new template
leaves the fields on the document blank. The macro did get copied to the
new template and it opens the Address Book. I select a name and the macro
finishes running without any errors but the fields are blank. All of this
is run on the same computer.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Thanks,
TD

Instead of copying content, copy the template. I suspect that one or more
components (such as AutoText entries) have been missed. File => New
Select the original template and check the choice to create a new template
rather than a new document. Then use SaveAs to save your new template. Then
edit the content.
