"Copyright" on bottom a resume?

The resume template includes the "Copyright © 1997 by the McGraw-Hill
Companies, Inc." at the bottom of the page. Do I have an obligation to leave
that copyright there when I send the resume to employers?
Thank you.

There are several templates and off-hand I don't know specifically which one
you're talking about. Regardless, I would delete it. Unless I was applying
for a job with McGraw-Hill. ;-)

My guess - admittedly that's all it is - would be that they just wanted to
establish copyright on the design of the template, and probably wouldn't
object to anyone removing the notice from a document created using the
template, only to anyone distributing the template itself.
