Copyright symbol instead of (c); way to circumvent?

A small annoyance this morning that my users are reporting, when they're
entering info re the lettering in an Act, in this case when we're entering a
"c", the letter and parentheses are converted to the copyright symbol. Is
there a way to prevent A2K from doing this?

Set the Allow Autocorrect property for the control involved to False (No).

I guess I should expand a bit on this.

Setting the control's allow autocorrect to false does this for the control.

To do this globally

You go to Tools: Autocorrect in the database window.
Find and highlight the row with (c) to the copyright symbol and delete that
row

This will have to be done on every computer that needs the fix.
It affects all the MS Office Applications that use this function (MS Word,
Powerpoint)

Lastly, if the users add the row back in because they want it to happen in
Word, then unless you've set the control to ignore autocorrect, the problem
returns.

control involved, thanks.

This is so neat to know. I tried both ways you mention, both in the
Autocorrect under Tools and by just changing the control's properties. It
seems best to just for this use to change the properties in Access so the
users still have the copyright symbol in Word, like you say.
