copyright symbol.

I would like to enter (c) into a cell. When I do that,
excel automatically inserts the copyright symbol ©. What
can I do to shut this off so I can have a list that reads
(a) (b) (c) ..... (p) (q) (r) (s) (t).... (z) instead of:

(a) (b) © ..... (p) (q) ® (s) (t).... (z) ???

Can anyone help?

Darin ,

Go into Data>Autocorrect, find the line with (c) in it. That will have the ©
symbol as a substitute. Delete that line.

Go to Tools > Auto Correct Options.
Find the one where (c) is replaced by © and delete it.
Keep in mind that this will change this for all Excel on your machin
for all sheets
